    Cars that were chav?

Post by ChemGuyUK on Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:14 am

Right I was having this discussion with the guys at work.

What cars became chav wagons but that have now become cool retro type cars??

When I was 17/18 and learning to drive there were a few cars that were considered very 'boy racer' which now, it's nice to see mint examples of and I think are cool.

    Renault 5 GT Turbo
    Ford Escort XR3i
    Ford Escort RS Turbo
Ford (MKII) Fiesta XR2 or RS Turbo
    Vaxhall Nova SR/GSI/GTE

Unfortunately I think the Subaru Impreza has been tarnished somewhat with the early models going for super cheap prices and ticking all the right chav boxes.

I reckon the sight of stock or good examples of Citroen Saxos is a welcome one considering when they were out they were modified to death. Often modified badly with Jap style kits and chrome wheels.

What cars do you reckon are the future cars who's image will be tarnished then in 15+ years time end up being quite collectible or 'cool' again?

I agree with it all but saxo are proper barry wagons so is the 106 gti. The corsa is another one.

I agree about scoobs now being perfect chav targets!
Corsa B, good ones are getting rare, was looking for a gsi a while back but they have all been c20xe'd or C20let'd.
